Our 2nd TACKY TRIP!

If you like the mountains, and we do, this is the trip for you! Paradise – God’s Country!
North Georgia, North Carolina, & Tennessee have magnificent scenic drives over, through, and around the back..backroads of the mountains. Breathing the fresh mountain air; riding along cool mountain streams and rivers; hiking to beautiful waterfalls; and taking in the views from the top of Mountains. You are truly experiencing “Paradise on Earth.” Once again, Russ did not disappoint us with our lodging arrangements and food, the glorious food! From our base camp, to our final night, food and accommodations just got better and better. Our final night was “real class” for “lst Class”! This was our second trip with Russ, and besides reuniting with Russ & Becky, Jerry & Kay, we met three new couples who quickly became part of our circle of motorcycle friends. Great People! Great Fun! Great Camaraderie! …….just another Great TACKY Trip!!

From the battlefields of Manassas to the trenches of Spotsylvania, everyday was packed with beautiful rides on back country roads in Virginia and West Virginia. The smell of wood burning in fireplaces, the feel of the cool, crisp mountain air, and the taste of wine at the end of the day as we enjoyed the camaraderie with new friends sitting by a toasty fire made this trip so enjoyable. Talking about the beautiful rides and things we had seen and done that day was so relaxing before enjoying another wonderful meal at yet another “first class” lodging facility.
Having someone else chart the course, plan the stops and attractions to visit, and make all the lodging and meal arrangements took the stress out of a great trip/vacation! Each morning as we prepared to venture out to unknown parts of the country and experience new adventures, our fearless leader, Russ, would dry our bike seats and windshields, getting us ready for another safe day of touring. However, he would not touch the chrome, “…because the chrome won’t get you home!” We heard that more than once!!
This was truly a “First Class” operation in every sense of the word…beyond our dreams and expectations. We got way more than our money’s worth! If I could think of only one word to describe our trip, it would be “TACKY”!

Dear Russ and Becky,
We recently returned from the Trains, Bikes and Battlefields tour. We had a GREAT time, thanks to Russ, Becky and Ken! They spent so much time before and during the trip to ensure that we enjoyed relaxing rides through spectacular scenery without worrying about where we were, where to get gas or where to stay. We had only to ride...and ride some more through the back roads of Americana.
We had an amazing time. Great places to stay, 2nd night was my favorite, outstanding meals and best of all, we made new friends for life. Great Job in planning and keeping us all safe. Even though I had to wear a helmet. Hope we can go along again some time.
"First class lives up to its name, everything about the trip was first class! We have ranked this as our #1 vacation that we have ever taken. The ride is beautiful and we made friends that will last a lifetime. The only complaint is that it went too fast. This trip has left us thinking about it every day since getting home. Not only does it make the driver a better motorcyclist it almost makes the passanger a better rider!"

Firstclassmotorcycle Tours captures the essence of the phrase “living life large”with the Trains Bikes and Battlefields tour. From the moment we stepped on the Amtrak train we received “First Class” treatment. Russ and his team had thought out every detail. Our group experienced the excitement of riding through some great “twisties” in the Virginia mountains as well as riding through some of the most gorgeous countryside in “West-By-God-Virginia. We explored the extremes of nature when we visited the underground beauty of the Luray Caverns and the breathtaking vistas of the Shenandoah Mountains. History came alive as we surveyed Civil War battlefields, investigated beautiful Chatham Manor and Gunston Hall and escaped to Fort Lewis plantation located on 3200 acres in the Shenandoah Valley. On this tour the words “motorcycle enthusiast” gained all new meaning. Our guide Russ and his trusty wingman Ron allowed us to experience the joy of each others company, great riding without the hassle of planning and accommodations that were “First Class”…..
